Westover Group is on the look out for 10 apprentices to join its 750-strong team as trainee technicians and customer service advisors.

Westover employs a number of apprentices every year in a two-fold bid to offer local school leavers the chance to learn valuable workplace skills and to develop the future generation of ‘home-grown’ experienced Westover managers. The application process is now open for any young people wishing to apply for a fulfilling role with a structured career path.

Opportunities are available in various Westover showrooms and workshops across Dorset and Wiltshire for a summer start.
Westover’s apprentices primarily learn ‘on the job’. Work-based training is complemented by a series of fully-funded courses, taking place at the vehicle manufacturer’s specialist training facilities. Apprenticeships are an opportunity for young people to ‘earn as they learn’ - starting out along their chosen career path without being saddled by the debt that goes hand in hand with higher education.

Working alongside a dedicated mentor and with other highly experienced, factory-trained technicians or senior customer service advisors, the new apprentices will be closely guided through the learning process, receiving help and support every step of the way.

“No matter if GCSE and A’ Level exams still feel a long way off, we are very happy to offer our apprenticeship positions on the back of predicted grades,” says Pete Walker, Westover Group Operations Director – who was himself an apprentice technician when he first joined the motor industry. “Our aim is to bring on a new generation of talent, training our students to the very highest standards from day one so that they can maximise their potential in the workplace.”

“We’re only interested in hearing from candidates who have a real passion to learn new skills, combined with a proactive and positive approach. Previous experience isn’t necessary – it’s more about attitude. This is a great opportunity for a group of local young people to embark on what we hope will be a long and fulfilling career with Westover. A fair few of our senior management team started out as apprentices, so the sky really is the limit.”

Applicants must have (or be predicted) GCSE passes in English and Maths.
