Hampshire coach firm Lucketts rolled out the red carpet to host a Macmillan coffee morning with a difference (September 29).

The Fareham company took part in the charity’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. But rather than putting on the kettle in the office, it took its caffeine on the road and treated staff at nearby Lakeside Business Park to hot drinks and cakes on board its new £400,000 VIP coach.
Employees from local firms received the full celebrity treatment as they walked down the red carpet to taste coffee and cakes on board the luxury vehicle.

Paul Barringer, Lucketts’ group sales and marketing director, said: “The end of September can be a bit of a dour time of year, with summer coming to an end and the weather starting to turn chilly. What better way to cheer people up than to treat them like VIPs and deliver coffee and cake on board our new coach?”

Lucketts is currently totting up the amount raised for Macmillan, which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support to people affected by cancer and their families, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. The company has pledged to match fund the total raised from the day.

Paul added: “Supporting charities is important to us as a business and we’re delighted to be able to raise money for Macmillian in our own unique way.”
Lucketts’ VIP coach arrived in Hampshire earlier this month. It is the only vehicle of its type in the region, offering the type of VIP treatment that celebrities are used to.

The sleek and state-of-the-art Irizar i8 seats 36 people in the amount of space that would normally be used for a 53-seater coach, with reclining leather seats and tables. Features include a fully-fitted Neff kitchen, five flat screen HD TVs complete with Sky and the option of an on-board host and catering.

The kitchen features a top-of-the-range oven, a coffee machine, microwave and instant hot water tap.
Naturally, the Lucketts VIP coach is fitted with the very latest technology, including Wifi, USB ports, power sockets, DAB radio and Chromecast for guests to stream entertainment from their phone to the screens.
